Common help topics

The camera scanner does not open
Check iPhone camera permissions in Settings. Folio Scan requires camera access to capture paper documents.
Face ID or Touch ID is not available
Biometric unlock depends on device support and system settings. You can still use a PIN when App Lock is enabled.
I cannot access Secure Vault documents
Secure Vault content is protected on device. If App Lock is enabled, unlock Folio Scan first, then try opening the document again.
How do I add pages to an existing PDF?
Open the document from your library, choose the document actions menu, then use the add-pages flow to scan or import more pages.
Can I import from Photos or Files?
Yes. Folio Scan supports importing images from Photos and files from the Files app so you can build or merge PDFs locally.
Why is a document not searchable?
Text recognition depends on OCR output. Some scans may need better lighting or clearer page capture for reliable text detection.

When reporting an issue, please include:

  • Your iPhone model
  • Your iOS version
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • Whether App Lock or Secure Vault was enabled
